Does anyone know an application for mac or an applescript (like the ones at dougscripts) that can be used to populate id3 tag information for an mp3 track via information in the filenames? I hav.Finder would need a supplemental applescript library that could read ID3 tags a quick search didn't locate any. And this AppleScript removed the album name that got copied along with the track name, ironing everything out just right. This AppleScript pulled the filename into the ID3 Name field. Now, I had several tracks called 'Track 1', 'Track 2' with all the other artist, album tags in place, in iTunes.It's not something I can easily recreate, short of manually re-entering all the details, which I have calculated will take me about 5 years, at the rate I'm going Unluckily, iTunes stripped away all the ID3 tag info for about 14,000 songs, so all I have is the song titles - no artist info, grouping details, etc.This script can make these changes in the track Title of the ID3 tag for the files in the selected playlist:
